This course used case studies to discuss specific situations that can occur in the library. This helps to recognize and learn how to correctly respond to various situations of the patron or staff member. The course points out the importance of understanding and providing equitable services to all users. And recognizes, respects, and addresses the diverse nature of the library patrons and community it services.
This course really makes you think about what to do in certain situations. I thought it was very good.
ReplyDeleteI've taken this course for another class; it is very helpful in presenting you with hard ethical dilemmas that have no obvious right or wrong answer, and shows you how to make the best of them without compromising your principles.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an interesting and helpful course. Every situation is different, but it is helpful to have some guidelines.
ReplyDeleteI, too, took this course for another LTA class, and it helps in evaluating "soft" answers that have no right or wrong, only shades of various meanings.
